PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 can sliced pineapple, drained (reserve syrup)
cherries
1 pkg. yellow cake mix, mixed according to pkg. directions

In pot, cook pineapple syrup, sugar and butter until sugar is dissolved. Pour syrup in 11 x 13-inch pan. Arrange pineapple slices with cherries in center. Pour cake mixture over syrup and pineapple slices.

Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool 15 minutes, then turn onto platter.
