EASY PINEAPPLE UPSIDE - DOWN
CAKE
 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 (1 lb., 14 oz.) can pineapple slices, drained
Maraschino cherries
Pecan halves (optional)
1 pkg. yellow cake mix

Melt butter over low heat in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan; sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Arrange pineapple slices in bottom of pan. Decorate with cherries and pecans halves. Prepare cake mix according to package directions; pour over pineapple. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 to 55 minutes. Invert pan immediately after taking cake from oven; let set a few minutes before removing from pan. Yields 12 to 15 servings.
