BROWN - EYED SUSANS 
1 c. butter
3 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

FROSTING:

1 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 tbsp. hot water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
(Optional almond halves)

Cream butter. Add sugar, almond, flour and salt. Continue to cream until very light. Roll into 1 inch balls, place on greased cookie sheet and flatten. Bake at 400 degrees approximately 8-10 minutes until lightly browned. Cool. Frost and add an almond halve to each top (optional). Melt in your mouth!
