DADDY'S FONDANT 
4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. half and half

Mix together and cook until forms firm ball in cold water. Pour onto greased marble slab. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Push up with spatula until becomes creamy. Shape into balls and dip in dipping chocolate. Can be used as base for candy pudding, pecan roll or peanut butter roll.

Do you have a recipe for candy pudding? My Granny always made them at Christmas. Red, white and green layers, with coconut, pecans, candied cherries, and semisweet chocolate poured over the top to harden. It was in a loaf shape and sliced like a meatloaf. YUM!!!
