ENGLISH MUFFINS 
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
1 yeast pkg.
1/4 c. water
1 beaten egg
3 to 3 1/2 c. flour
Cornmeal

Heat then cool: 1 cup milk, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons sugar and 3 tablespoons butter. Add 1 package yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup water, lukewarm, 1 beaten egg and 3 to 3 1/2 c. flour. Knead slightly. Let stand until double in size. Roll out to 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut out with biscuit cutter. Place on cookie sheet sprinkled with cornmeal, dip also in cornmeal. Let rise again until double in thickness. Cook on grill or electric fry pan, ungreased at 350 degrees for 10 minutes each side.
