BAKED APPLE & ONION 
Lots of peeled & sliced apples
Lots of peeled & sliced onions (rings)
Lots of brown sugar
Butter, salt & bread crumbs

Butter a casserole dish - size depending on number to be served. These ingredients shrink. Put a layer of apples. Cover with layer of onions. Sprinkle generously with brown sugar and a little salt. Repeat layers until dish is heaping. Top with bread crumbs. Dot freely with butter. Cover dish with lid. Bake slowly at 300 degrees for 3 hours. Do not hurry it! Uncover last hour to brown crumbs and evaporate juices.
