HOMEMADE BISCUITS 
3 c. self rising flour
1/3 c. Crisco shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk

Put flour in bread tray. Make a little hole in center of the flour and add shortening. Add buttermilk slowly. Mix buttermilk and shortening and gradually add flour from side of bread tray. Work up until creamy, then add enough flour so dough is not sticky. Form into a long roll. Pinch off biscuits and roll in the palm of your hand. Place in biscuit pan, flatten slightly. Bake in 475 degree oven for 4 or 5 minutes until slightly brown on bottom, then broil until lightly brown on top.
