EASY ITALIAN BEEF CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (14 oz.) can mushrooms
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. salt & pepper
2 c. Bisquick
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
8 slices American cheese
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

Brown beef, onion and garlic. Drain after cooking. Stir in sauce, mushrooms, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Heat until boiling. Decrease and simmer for 10 minutes. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish.

Mix Bisquick, milk and egg. Spread 1/2 in the baking dish. Put 4 slices cheese on top. Top with beef mixture. Put on 4 more slices of cheese. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Drop the rest of dough in spoonfuls on the top. Bake 20 minutes until lightly browned.
