APPLE CRANBERRY CASSEROLE 
4 lg. yellow Delicious apples
2 c. fresh cranberries
1 1/4 c. white sugar
1 c. hot water to melt sugar

TOPPING:

1 stick butter, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. flour

Combine topping ingredients and add 1 cup dry quick-cooking oatmeal.

Place apples in casserole dish, then cranberries and pour sugar water over fruit. Sprinkle topping over the fruit. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. During the last half hour of baking time, add 1/2 cup chopped nuts if you like. Serves 6 to 8 people.
