AUTHENTIC GERMAN ONION SOUP 
4 lg. onions
1 tbsp. butter
4 slices toasted bread
1 liter bouillon
3 buds of garlic
4 slices Swiss cheese

Saute onion and garlic in small amount of butter. Add bouillon and cook for 10 minutes. Pour soup into cup, add toasted bread and cheese. Bake in oven until cheese melts. Serves 4. NOTE: Beef bones are used for most basic soups in Germany.
