HOMEMADE SODA CRACKERS
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease several baking sheets.

Combine flour and butter using a pastry cutter. Set aside.

Combine milk, vinegar, baking soda and salt. Add to flour mixture. Work dough into a ball. Roll out to a uniform 1/5-inch (5mm) thickness.

Using a 2-inch round or square cutter, cut into crackers. Prick tops several times with the tines of a fork. Sprinkle tops with additional salt, if desired.

Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. Cool baked crackers completely on wire rack. Store tightly covered.
