AUNT GLADY'S MOIST CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 4 rounded tbsp. cocoa 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. flour, not sifted 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. boiling water Cream the sugar, shortening and eggs. Add 1 cup buttermilk a little at a time. 4 rounded tbsp. cocoa 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla Last of all add 3/4 cup boiling water. Put into the pans immediately and into the oven. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 pan or two 9 inch round pans. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. After it cools, frost with fudge frosting. |
