APPLE PIE SLICES 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
Fresh apples
Cornflakes crushed
1 egg, separated

Mix flour, sugar, salt and butter in a bowl. Put egg yolk in measuring cup and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid. Mix into flour mixture with fork. Take one half of dough and roll out. Push into 13 x 9 pan with sides. Sprinkle 3 or 4 handfuls of cornflakes on dough. Slice peeled apples and put on top of cornflakes (8 or 10) until fairly thick. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll out remaining dough and place on top of crust. Beat egg white and brush on top crust. Bake about 1 hour at 375 degrees. When taken out of oven frost with thin powdered sugar icing. Cut while warm.
