1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3 1/2 c. flour (about)
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter, then add the rest of the ingredients in order. Roll thin and cut into desired shapes. Bake in 350 degree oven for 7 to 8 minutes. Watch carefully, don't let them brown!
