ORIENTAL - STYLE NUTS | |
2 (3 1/4 oz.) pkgs. blanched whole almonds 1 (7 oz.) can dry roasted cashew nuts 1 tsp. soy sauce 1 tsp. water 2 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. FIVE-SPICE powder 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 or 1/2 tsp. Cayenne powder (if you wish to heat it up) Place nuts in 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan. Mix soy sauce and water; drizzle over nuts, tossing to distribute evenly. Dot with butter. Bake uncovered in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Mix FIVE-SPICE powder and garlic powder (with Cayenne powder, if desired) and sprinkle over the nuts. Bake uncovered, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 8-10 minutes longer. Yield: 10 servings at 255 calories each. |
