BROWN BEAN SOUP 
1 1/2 c. pinto beans
3 qt. (12 c.) water
1 sm. ham bone
1 lg. sweet potato, chopped
Chopped onion (as you like)
Salt to taste
1/2 c. dry egg mix, packed
3/4 c. water
About 1/2 c. flour

Put beans and 3 quarts of water in pan. Bring to boil; boil 2 minutes, cover and let stand for 1 hour. Add ham bone. Cover and cook beans until soft (about 2 hours). Add sweet potato, onion and salt. Cook about 30 minutes longer, or until done as you like.

Mix egg mix and 3/4 cup water in bowl. Add enough flour to make soft dough. Drop dough by teaspoon into bean soup, cover and cook 15 minutes longer.
