EGGLESS, MILKLESS, BUTTERLESS,
CAKE
 
1 lb. raisins
1 c. cold water
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tbsp. baking soda
2 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. lard
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
4 c. sifted flour

Stew raisins in 2 cups water and add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Put into a cake pan and cook slowly until done.
