MOM'S GUAVA PASTRIES | |
guava paste (in a 16oz. block) whipped cream cheese flour tortillas Spray pan with cooking spray. Turn burner on between low to medium heat. Note: Use refrigerated tortillas rather than the ones on the shelf for this recipe because they are softer and don't fall apart. Cut 6-7 slices of guava, then cut those into squares. The thinner the slice, the faster they melt. Place the guava slices all around the tortilla. Scoop small spoonfuls of whipped cream cheese and drop them around the tortilla. This tortilla will resemble a pizza. Layer another tortilla on top and press lightly to stick them together. Cook for about 3-4 minutes then flip over. Tortilla should be nicely browned and crispy. Cook the other side for several minutes to finish the melting. Cut into eight slices just like a pizza. Careful! The filling is very hot. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. This is a great treat for guests or even for breakfast! Submitted by: Michelle Doepp |
