7 lb. cucumbers
3 lb. brown sugar
3 pt. of vinegar
1 tbsp. salt
3 tbsp. pickling spice (put in cheesecloth)

Peel and seed cucumbers. Cut in strips. Put 3 pints of vinegar and salt together. Bring to boil. Add cucumbers. Boil together until cucumbers begin to soften. Add sugar and spices and simmer slowly until tender. Makes 3 quarts.
