KOSHER DILL PICKLES 
1 bushel pickle size cucumbers

Makes 30 quarts sliced pickles, 40 quarts whole pickles.

4 ample packs fresh dill
3 1/2 boxes mustard seed
1/4 box alum
2 boxes garlic or 1 sm. garlic powder
5 c. canning salt
5 qts. vinegar

Bring to boil; 1 quart vinegar, 1 cup salt, 3 quarts water. Will cover 8 quarts pickles.

Pack pickles in washed and sterilized jars with 2 cloves garlic or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder; 2 pieces fresh dill; 1/8 teaspoon alum; 1 teaspoon mustard seed and cover with boiling liquid.
