GRANDMA HICK'S POUND CAKE | |
3 c. sugar 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese 3 sticks butter 6 eggs (separated) 3 c. lightly packed flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. lemon flavor 1/2 tsp. butternut flavoring (optional) Beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. Cream butter, sugar and cream cheese together. Add egg yellows to batter. Add flour, 1 cup at a time. Alternate with other dry ingredients. Add flavorings. Fold beaten egg whites into batter. Batter will be stiff. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 80-90 minutes. Watch for browning and coming from sides to help indicate completion. |
