1/3 c. butter 1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1 c. flour 1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped 1/4 c. sugar 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 tbsp. milk 1 tbsp. milk In a small bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. With a fork, blend in flour until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in walnuts. Reserve one cup for topping. Press remaining mixture into greased 8 inch square pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in another bowl, beat sugar and cream cheese together until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, milk and lemon juice; beat until smooth. Pour cream cheese mixture over baked crust and sprinkle evenly with remaining crumb mixture. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate, cut into squares. |
