OLD TIME DOUGHNUTS 
1 egg
1 tbsp. melted lard (over sugar)
1 c. sugar
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste

Add flour to make a soft dough. Roll out on board. Let rise. Cut with a doughnut cutter. Fry in hot melted lard until a golden brown.
