YELLOW CAKE LAYERS 
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Grease and flour 2 nine inch cake pans. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, sugar. Add butter, 1/2 cup milk, and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add milk and eggs, beat 2 minutes scraping bowl frequently. Pour into prepared pans. Bake about 30 minutes or until cake tests done.

Frost layers with your favorite icing.
