SWISS STEAK 
1 lg. Swiss steak cut into 6 serving pieces
All purpose flour
1 (10 3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
1 soup can water
1/2 c. cocktail onions and juice
1/4 to 1/2 c. sherry

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Dredge meat in flour. Brown meat in hot shortening. Remove. Place in 3 quart glass baking dish. Do not salt meat. Add remaining ingredients to pan drippings. Cook over medium heat, stirring drippings into liquid. Pour over meat. Bake covered 2 1/2 hours. Serve with noodles or fluffy rice.
