SAUSAGE CACCIATORE | |
2 pkgs. sweet or hot sausage 2 med. onions, chopped 2 green peppers, chopped 2 cans stewed tomatoes 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 bay leaf Cut sausage diagonally into 4 to 6 pieces each. Brown about 5 minutes in covered pan. Remove sausage from pan. Add onion and pepper; saute in fat for 5 minutes. Add sausage, oregano, salt, pepper, bay leaf and tomatoes. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Serve over rice or shells. |
