RICE PULAO (INDIAN) 
6 tbsp. butter
1 c. raw rice
2 c. chicken broth
2 cardamoms, whole
1 med. carrot, chopped
1/2 pkg. frozen peas
1 cinnamon stick
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. turmeric
1/4 c. nutmeats, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/4 c. raisins

Heat butter; add spices and vegetables and fry for 5 minutes. Add rice, fry 5 minutes. Add broth and seasonings; boil 15 minutes. Add raisins and nuts. Place in greased baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour.
