RICH SPICED BUTTER COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. soft light brown sugar
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. double acting baking powder
Dash salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. milk

Cream butter until fluffy. Gradually blend in sugar. Sift flour with baking powder, salt and cinnamon and add alternately with egg and milk, mixed together. Mix well. Fill a cookie press with some of the dough. Form cookies in any desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in 400 degree oven 8 to 10 minutes. Decorate with confectioners' sugar and water frosting, colored granulated sugar, or glazed fruits. Make about 8 dozen.
