SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS 
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 onion, minced
1 egg, beaten
1 c. cracker or bread crumbs
1 1/2 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger
Pepper, to taste

To Make Meatballs: Drain pineapple, reserving liquid. Combine 1 cup of the drained pineapple with ground beef and mix in remaining ingredients. Shape into bite size balls and brown in the oven in baking pan; 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

SAUCE:

Reserved pineapple juice
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/3 c. vinegar or lemon juice
2 c. ginger ale
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. soy sauce

To Prepare Sauce: In saucepan, mix cornstarch and 1/3 cup pineapple juice and stir until smooth; add remaining ingredients and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Pour over meatballs and heat until bubbly. In oven: 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Serve with cooked rice.
