BROWN SUGAR NUT CAKE | |
1 lb. brown sugar 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. shortening or butter 1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. milk 5 lg. eggs 2 c. chopped nuts Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time. Mix dry ingredients, and stir into creamed mixture. Add milk and vanilla. Add 1 cup chopped nuts to batter; sprinkle the other cup over cake batter after pouring into a greased and floured tube cake pan. Cook 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. |
