91. FIG PRESERVES
Mash figs, cook with sugar 25 or 30 minutes. Stir often. Add Jello and cook a few minutes.
Place figs in saucepan. Sprinkle dry Jell-O on figs and mash. Add sugar and cook 10 minutes. Seal in hot jars.
Sift flour, salt, soda, sugar ... beat well. Add fig preserves, nuts and vanilla; mix ... 9"x13" sheet pan. Bake for 45 minutes at 325 degrees.

Bring syrup to boil, add figs a few at a time ... or several hours. Put in pint jars and seal. Put in cold water bath and boil for 20 minutes.

Wash figs and put in heavy pot. ... transparent. Add lemon slice about 30 minutes before they are done. Put in hot jars and seal. Makes 2 or 3 pints.

Wash figs, put in heavy roast ... morning cook over low heat, add sliced lemons. Cook until clear and thin syrup. Put in boiled jars and seal.
Wash and stem figs. Layer figs and sugar in stainless pot. Cook slow until thickens. Place in sterile jars.
Mix figs, gelatin and sugar thoroughly ... a boil over medium heat and boil 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour quickly into jars and seal.
Be sure figs are not too soft and ... not a fiery boil. Test small amount to see figs are cooked and mixture thick enough. Seal in sterile jars.
