8 oz. flour 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda 1 oz. caster sugar 2 oz. butter 7 tbsp. milk (approximately) 1. Sieve dry ingredients and rub in fat. 2. Add milk and mix with a knife to form soft dough. 3. Turn out onto a floured board and knead. 4. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness, cut into rounds or triangles. 5. Knead trimmings together and repeat. 6. Put onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Serve buttered with jam. |
