STUFFING FOR TURKEY | |
1 c. corn meal 1 c. flour 2 tbsp. honey 4 tsp. baking powder 1 egg 1 c. milk 1/4 c. butter, soft Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder. Add honey, egg, milk, butter; beat until smooth. Bake in 8-inch greased pan at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool and set aside. Good idea to make this the day before if time permits. 3/4 c. chopped onion 1 1/2 c. chopped celery (stalks and leaves) 1 1/2 tsp. sage 1 tsp. thyme 1/2 tsp. pepper Crumble and brown sausage, onion, and celery; add seasonings. Mix in crumbled corn bread. Stuff turkey or bake separately (1 hour). |
