BEVERLY'S TOMATO SAUCE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. Italian sausage
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 can of tomato sauce
1 can of tomato bits or stewed tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
12 oz. water
1 tbsp. basil (dried)
2 to 3 cloves garlic
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. salt

Brown beef and sausage in a large dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer. If extra liquid is needed add stewed tomatoes and spices. Variation: You may add zucchini and eggplant if desired.
