ELSIE'S BAR COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cornstarch
2 c. flour

Cream together butter and sugar. Add cornstarch and flour. Mix well and pat into 2 (9"x13") pans. Bake 15 minutes at 300 degrees. Mix:

4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. brown sugar
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. coconut

Mix well and spread over first mixture. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and frost. Mix:

Mix well and spread over first mixture. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and frost.

FROSTING:

1 cube butter
8 oz. cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box (3 1/2 c.) powdered sugar

Beat well, spread over cooled mixture. Refrigerate to set, cut in squares.
