1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
Hershey's Chocolate Candy Kisses
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk

Sift flour, baking soda, salt. Cream shortening, peanut butter and sugars. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Blend in dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly. Shape by rounded teaspoons into ball. Roll in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.

Remove from oven and place a Hershey's Candy Kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so that the cookie cracks around the edge.

Return to oven. Bake for 2-5 minutes longer.

Yield: 3 dozen.
