1 can cream style corn
1 c. plain flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 c. plain cornmeal
1 chopped onion
1 chopped jalapeno pepper or 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper

Mix well and drop by teaspoon full into hot shortening. Fry until brown.
