OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. vegetable shortening or 1 1/2 sticks butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar and 1/4 c. cocoa
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oats, uncooked
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. raisins
Dash of salt
1/4 c. orange juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat all together shortening (or butter), sugar, egg, cocoa, milk and vanilla until creamy. Add remaining ingredients; mix well.

Drop by rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Makes 7 dozen cookies.
