CORN LIGHT BREAD 
3 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 egg

Combine meal, flour, sugar and salt. Add buttermilk and beaten egg. Mix well. Pour into large well-greased pan. Let stand for 15 minutes. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven until slightly browned and firm on top.
