1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. flour
2 c. cornmeal
1 onion, chopped fine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. oil
1 1/4 c. milk

Mix the dry ingredients. Beat eggs well and combine with milk and onion. Add to the dry ingredients and mix well. Drop by the teaspoon into the hot oil and cook, turning occasionally, until brown.
