CHOP SUEY | |
1 lb. beef, pork or veal, cut into 1/4 inch cubes 2 tbsp. fat 1 c. celery, cut fine 1 c. onions, sliced 4 tbsp. soy sauce 2 tbsp. bead molasses 1 (No. 2) can bean sprouts 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1 c. water Brown the meat in hot fat in a pressure saucepan. Add celery, onions, water, salt and pepper. Cover, set control at 10 pounds pressure and cook for 15 minutes after pressure is up. Reduce pressure. Add bean sprouts and simmer in open pan for 3 minutes. Add the soy sauce. Thicken with 2 tablespoons cornstarch in 1/4 cup cold water. Serve with hot rice. Serves 4. (This can be made in a regular pan. Be sure to cook the meat well before adding the vegetables.) |
