1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg white, beaten slightly
3/4 c. chopped nuts
Any flavor jam

Mix butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Add flour and salt. Roll in balls, dip in egg whites, then roll in chopped nuts. Press thumb in center to make indent. Fill with small teaspoonful of jam. Bake at 325 degrees until golden.
