SWEET ROLL 
1 qt. sweet milk
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening (Crisco works best)
1 pkg. yeast
1 qt. flour
1 heaping tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 level tsp. baking soda

Bring the first 3 ingredients to a boil. Cool to room temperature. Mix the yeast in small amount of warm water. Add to milk mixture. Add the flour. Let rise for 2 hours. Stir down. Add the baking powder, salt and soda. Add another quart of flour. Out in the refrigerator. Make out on a floured board and let rise for 2 hours.

Bake in a moderate oven. Will keep in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. This will make a large amount.
