EASY AS PIE APPLE PIE 
4 c. thinly sliced (peeled) apples
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. butter
1 pkg. (3 oz.) Jello Peach flavor gelatin
1 pkg. (4 serving size) Jello vanilla flavor
1 frozen 9 inch dish pie crust shell baked and cooled.

Combine apples, water, spices, and butter in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Stir frequently. Stir in gelatin, add: pie filling mix and blend well. Bring to a boil.

Remove from heat and let stand about 5 minutes. Pour into pie shell. Chill until set, about 4 hours. Garnish if desired.
