SPICY DIET PICKLES 
4 qts. sm. cucumbers
1 tsp. artificial sweetener
3 tbsp. mixed pickling spices
1 tbsp. alum
1 gallon cider vinegar
3 tbsp. dry mustard
3/4 c. salt
3 cloves garlic, slivered

1. Scrub, dry and pack the cucumbers in sterilized jars. (If large cucumbers, slice or cut in strips.)

2. Combine the remaining ingredients, stirring to dissolve the salt.

3. Pour over the cucumbers and seal jars. Process 10 minutes in hot water bath. Makes about 8 pints.
