BUTTERSCOTCH BARS 
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour, not sifted
1 c. butterscotch chips or more
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar, butter, shortening, egg, vanilla thoroughly. Add measured flour (not sifted) to cream mixture, mix well. Spread in ungreased 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan.

Sprinkle over top butterscotch chips and nuts.

Rinse hands under cold water, press chips and nuts into dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cut into bars while warm.
