APPLE SLICES DESSERT 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
1 egg, separated
Milk
2/3 c. cornflakes
5 c. sliced apples
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix together the flour, sugar and salt. Cut in Crisco with blender. Put egg yolk in a measuring cup and add milk to make 2/3 cup. Add to flour mixture. Mix just enough so dough shapes into a ball.

Roll out half of the dough to a 17 x 12 inch rectangle. Put on jelly roll pan. Cover with cornflakes; layer apples over that. Mix the 1 1/2 cups sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Roll out rest of the dough for the top crust and place over apples. Pinch edges together. Beat egg white stiff and spread on top on crust. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 40 minutes or until done.

GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Mix sugar and lemon juice. While the pastry is hot, drizzle glaze over top.
