FRUIT CAKE 
6 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
3 squares chocolate
1/4 c. orange juice
2 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 c. pecans
1 lb. raisins, dark
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. butter
1/2 lb. grated carrot
2 lb. mixed fruit

Mix fruits, raisins, coconut, and nuts into large bowl; add 1 cup of flour. Bet butter; add sugar and egg yolks gradually. Mix all the spices, soda, and salt into 1 cup of flour and add it to the mixture. Next add chocolate and juices. Bet egg whites until foamy. Pour the batter into the fruits; add the egg whites. Put in greased and wax papered loaf pan. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
