OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3 c. rolled oats
1 c. raisins

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add sifted flour, baking powder and soda, then oatmeal. Fold in raisins. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet or shape in roll, wrap in wax paper and store in refrigerator. Slice and bake as needed. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes on greased cookie sheet.
