MOM'S RAISIN CRISSCROSS COOKIES 
2 sticks butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract or any flavoring
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins

Soften butter, mix in sugar, egg and flavoring. Add next 4 ingredients. Stir in raisins. Roll into walnut-size balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, about 3 inches apart. Flatten with fork dipped in flour, making crisscross pattern. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. (2 dozen)
